What I love about Sunday

It's Easter!

This Easter was especially joyous for my family and me. After spending two weeks in the hospital following a brain aneurysm (I call it his "little brain fart"), my dad was released today and was able to go back to Wyoming! Personally, I'm surprised he didn't bust out sooner since all he could drink was nasty blue Powerade and they kept waking him up every six minutes, but I guess he had the good sense to stay put (that, and he had like twenty IVs all jumbled in his arm, which certainly makes escape more difficult).

Dustin and I were very glad to be able to spend a few hours with my family--our first Easter together in four years, as my brother pointed out. I'm truly grateful for all the love that my family has felt and received lately and for our closeness in these difficult times. As much as Easter is about new beginnings, it was very fitting for my dad to be sent home today, along with his new lease on a healthy life.

I'm very thankful for my faith and all the prayers that have given me strength and hope. I know that I have had my savior by my side and that He has carried my family through this trial.

1 Peter 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead...
